Hof Winterfest, Jan 15th & 16th 2010
Schnitzels & Alpenhorns, polkas and the polonaise and, of course, the chicken
dance. Those events and many more await visitors to Ogden’s 23rd annual Hof
Winterfest. What does a rubber chicken have to do with Germany? Well that is a bit of a stretch, but here goes. One of the things they do at the annual Hof Winterfest is the "Chicken Dance." The dance, popular in restaurants and clubs in Germany, involves people flapping their arms like chickens while the band plays the Chicken Dance polka tune. Well, I guess you have to be there to get the picture.
Hof Winter Festival will celebrate not only an anniversary but also the life of the late Scott Sneddon, the man who founded the festival as part of his project to revitalize the relationship between Ogden and the city of Hof, Germany. The party starts Friday at noon and runs until 11:00 PM, and again on Saturday from 10:00 AM until closing for another year at 11:00 PM. Just When Old Man Winter turns down the thermostat for January, Hof Winterfest comes along to brighten our day. See you there!

Moab Arts Festival 2010 - May 29th & 30th
It Doesn't Take much to get us headed down to Moab so being invited to their Arts Festival was great news! If we post a show here it means that we really enjoy it. That said, the Moab Arts Festival is the most vendor friendly, spacious and scenic show we do all year.
Check Out their really cool Arts Festival Magazine and the article about Millcreek Valley Farm on page 15. FYI, our home in Moab is the Kokopelli Suites on the east side of town. Each of 4 suites has a full kitchen, and is very roomy and quiet. Call them at
1-888-530-3134 and tell'em we sent ya! |
